Since 2017, Nayona has been blogging about the environment and its protection. She writes about issues pertaining to the environment, such as soil preservation, defenses against soil erosion, and wildlife protection, among many other topics. Here is a complete timeline of Nayona's work on the environment:
On September 26th, 2017, an article Nayona wrote was published in the Hindustan Times Student newspaper.
In 2018, now in Grade 6, Nayona embarked on a remarkable adventure - she channeled her interest in tigers and love for the environment, and began writing the extensive compilation that became the "Tiger Diaries."
Fast forward to September 28, 2021, when Nayona achieved a significant milestone by being published in the Times of India Students Edition NIE.
January 2022 marked another triumph for Nayona, with her captivating story titled "The Magnificent Tiger at Pench," recounting an encounter with a tiger and the overall experience at the Pench Forest Reserve, being published by Storyhouse, an online magazine.
February 2022 witnessed Nayona's talent being recognized once again, as Hindustan Times featured her column titled, "Tale of a Legendary Tigress," where she shared an insightful narrative about the famous tigress, Collarwali.
Moving ahead to April 2022, Nayona made an impact in the Times of India Student Edition with the article, "Loitering Tigers Lurking in Maharashtra."
June 2022 was a poetic month for Nayona, as her heartfelt poem on soil, titled "The Cry," found its way into the Hindustan Times Student Edition, HT School Times.
In November 2022, Nayona decided to pursue her love for the environment and wildlife through an impactful project - she started Stories of Our Soil, an educational and outreach initiative focused on the impact of climate change on the environment and the rights of the indigenous communities that treat nature as their own.
In January 2023, Nayona expanded the impact of the project by creating the Save Our Soil guide, exploring the effect of environmental degradation on vulnerable populations. In the same month, she also curated the Stories of Survival reading list, offering valuable resources for children to learn more about the environment.
In March 2023, Nayona launched The SOS Children’s book series with the intention of raising awareness of important issues facing contemporary society and challenging young readers to consider their role in saving the environment.
In July 2023, Nayona began the process of compiling the work she had created over many years for “Tiger Diaries,” and designing it for publication.
In September 2023, Nayona started voluntary work with COHAS (Community of Hope and Support) to visit the slum inhabited by the Banjara Community (tribal) and interact with the children there with a dream to build a library for tribal children of the Banjara Community, that COHAS works with for their upliftment and education through art-based education and life skills.
In March 2024, Nayona released her interview with the Founder of COHAS Ankush Rana on YouTube highlighting the plight of the indigenous people living in the area, the children and the environmental issues that they struggle with daily. The interview is uploaded in the Interview Section.
In May 2024, Nayona did her project on Jharkhand State Government policies for Tribal Welfare and presented the same to Dr. Dubey, Senior Bureaucrat and Deputy Conservator of Jharkhand Forest Department, Indian Forest Services. The interview is uploaded on the Interview Section.
In May and June 2024, Nayona launched a fundraiser for COHAS and garnered over INR 57K for building a library and for furthering art-based education to the children of the tribal community that COHAS works for.
